OLD AGE HOME

Navodaya Seva Sangam(NSS) located in Mahbubnagar District, Now in Rangareddy Dist; Telangana State in India is working for the amelioration of rural livelihoods in all spheres. The basic concept of the organization is ‘achieving economic development through capacity building and empowerment’. NSS believes that capacity-building efforts empowers an individual to possess requisite skills, awareness, understanding of circumstances prevailing, judicious care for opportunities available and optimum utilization of the same etc., such people are bound to adopt the path of sustainable economic development. However, these ideological concepts can be materialized only through a collective approach.

            As part of development and welfare and need based activities. we are running an Old age home from last 15 years with 30 inmates.

In India, we have a traditional and respective family relation from old centuries. We have perfect frame of family sentiments and this culture transferring to generation to generations. Continuing last 100 decades. Unfortunately youth are getting attracted by foreign jobs andculture. They are leaving their parents alone, in turn the elders are depending on others and searching for shelters. As per an independent survey, only 30% of elders are in good situation, 20% of elders are living on their own without depending on others. Fifty percent of the remaining aged people do not have any source of income and are left alone with diseases without any support and searching for shelter. We found in an independent survey that aged people after 80-90+, are facingmany problems and difficulty  in getting a decentfuneral. Nobody co-operates in this tragic situation. To support such destitute old aged people in Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, India we are running an Old age home.

Old Age Home is situated in Shadnagar Mandal Hqs, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, India running with qualified and committed personal. The shelter accommodates senior citizens who have crossed 60+ years of age and who have been driven away by their family members. We are providing them shelter, clothes, nutrition and balanced diet including physical and psychological support through many services with dedication and commitment and helping the aged in leading their lives in peace and happiness.

In addition we have arranged a qualified Doctor to provide medical facilities and regular check-up, for the inmate’s health. We are also providing different recreational activities and social activities like tree plantation, devotional prayers, helping them relax. In addition, we are integrating women groups to empower. We are happy to say that these old people are content with our love and affection and no longer feeling bitterness towards their family members for deserting them.

We are mainly facing problem of suitable accommodation for the Old Age Home. Presently we are running the Old Age Home in a rented building, so we are unable to provide more facilities. We are looking forward for big hearted supporters, who can help us in finding our own accommodation for the Old Age Home.
